Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
Julia Clowney earned her bachelor’s degree in 1990 in Journalism from the University of Kansas, and in 1997, she received her master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne. She has more than 22 years in the field of psychotherapy and is licensed in the states of Pennsylvania, California and Minnesota.
Clowney’s excitement of breakthrough therapies, especially that of Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART) is undeniable, and she feels prepared to debate that we are living in the golden age of therapy. Immediately after being trained in Basic ART, she found the technique to be transformational, and she feels the therapy connects the dots between many other approaches, and, in her experience, it creates the most immediate relief from suffering for clients.
Clowney established her current private practice in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2007. Her primary focus is the wellbeing and forward movement of her clients and the simplest paths to resolution of trauma, conflict and disorder and aims to help clients make lasting changes. Additionally, she enjoys providing supervision, consultation and trainings to other therapists and is dedicated to helping other clinicians realize that goal with Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
