Yolanda Harper

My name is Yolanda and emotions are my superpower. I’m a therapist by trade — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in trauma and post-traumatic growth — but my most meaningful work is to bear witness to people’s stories of struggle, strife, grit, and growth.

My desire is to foster dialogue around the importance of mental and emotional well-being. I believe we can connect more deeply with others when we are truly connected to ourselves. I hope to see us restore some balance in our lives and remember the importance of being imperfectly human.

I am a private practice owner in the Tampa Bay Area, a clinician, a researcher, a trainer and teacher. I’m also a wife and mom to three human children and two therapy dogs — Goldendoodles Toby and Hobbes.

I’m a Master Accelerated Resolution Therapist and am a Lead Trainer for the therapy. Of all of my trainings and certifications, ART has made the biggest impact on my clinical skills and my business. I’ve been able to hone a unique specialty that gives my clients amazing results and allows me to be successful in my business without getting burned-out.

In addition, I’m Level II Gottman Trained, bringing the Gottman’s 40 years of research into sessions for couple’s therapy. I’m also a Certified Daring Way Facilitator™ and use Brené Brown’s 15 years of research on shame resiliency, vulnerability, and connection so that we can wrap our common experiences into words that make sense. As a brain geek, I’ve also trained in neurofeedback, so my approach is a nice blend of emotions, thoughts, brain science, and research. One of the beautiful things about Accelerated Resolution therapy is that I’m able to blend these concepts into my ART sessions, as well, making them even more powerful.

I believe in community and giving back, and I’m honored to offer my expertise and consultation to Pasco County Fire Rescue CISM, Camaraderie Foundation Medical Advisory Committee, and Give an Hour. Harper Therapy also makes monetary donations to Warrior Mission: at Ease, STANO Foundation, Allie Cares, and The JoyFM.
